All four LICOMS facilities are equipped with the latest x-ray technology that enables us to take digital x-rays including CT scanning. This state of the art CT scanning capability allows the doctors to see the jaw bone in all three dimensions. This also allows to doctor to visualize adjacent anatomical structures such as the location sensory nerves and the upper jaw sinuses.
Our state of the art digital x-ray equipment provides the clearest real-time images at a fraction of the radiation exposure as compared to film-based x-ray images. Our digital CT scanners offer our patients the convenience of having their CT scans performed on site also at a fraction of the radiation exposure that patients are subjected to at a hospital based or radiology facility based CT scanner.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a three dimensional science. In order to thoroughly evaluate a patient for dental implant treatment, a complete clinical and x-ray examination is necessary. In some cases a clinical examination and a panoramic x-ray is sufficient. In other situations a more detailed evaluation of the available bone is required. This CT technology allows us to evaluate certain pathologic conditions, as well as positions of impacted teeth, in such a detailed way that better enables us to provide the quality of care you expect in a surgical office.
