Arjun Kumar, DDS


Biography

Dr. Kumar is proud to serve our community by delivering personalized and compassionate care. He grew up in Queens and Long Island, New York and graduated from Roslyn High School before attending the Honors College at Stony Brook University for his undergraduate education. He then moved to the city of brotherly love to obtain his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. During dental school, Dr. Kumar focused his time serving the West Philadelphia community and received Honors in Community Service, Honors in Research, and Honors in Oral Surgery. After completing his dental education, he pursued one-year internships at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, jump-starting his career path in oral surgery.

Dr. Kumar returned to the northeast region to pursue Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Geisinger Medical Center in northeastern Pennsylvania and served as Chief Resident in his final year. During this rigorous training, Dr. Kumar performed full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar and implant surgery, bone grafting and orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery and minimally invasive arthroscopy, sleep surgery, oral pathology and treatment of salivary gland disease, head and neck cancer resection and reconstruction, alveolar cleft repair, and adult and pediatric anesthesia, and held call responsibilities at multiple Level I trauma centers. Dr. Kumar also served on the national executive board for the Resident Organization of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ROAAOMS) and was inducted into the Academy of Educators at Geisinger Medical Center as recognition for his dedication to teaching.

Dr. Kumar is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and American Dental Association. He is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
Outside of the clinic and operating room, Dr. Kumar can be found on the tennis and pickleball court and spending time traveling with family and friends.
